Our History
The roots of the company began in the San Francisco bay area in January 1996 during the Internet revolution. It all started with Product Development Laboratory, Inc. (PDL), a consulting company that developed products for medical and dental OEM customers. In April 1997, PDL relocated to Minneapolis, MN to escape the high cost of operating a business in California. Around this same period, PDL began working on projects in the auto identification industry, specifically bar code verification. As this business segment grew it became clear that a separate division focusing on Auto ID was needed, and thus Auto ID Solutions was born. Since inception, we have grown into a leadership role within the industry. Our staff has participated in the creation of ISO and ANSI standards as a voting member of workgroups and task groups. Our knowledge, expertise, and experience has helped multi-national businesses improve their processes and reduce costs.
